Excited for our Disaster Day simulation @ourmedschool tomorrow! UCF/HCA EM Residency (Greater Orlando/Osceola) is hosting our friends from AdventHealth for specialized training in disaster response, event medicine, and MCIs! Thx to the exceptional faculty from both programs for putting together an amazing event!

Disaster Day success! We had over 50 learners including medical students all the way to senior EM residents! They took part in a variety of simulation events and games to hone their knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness and event medicine @ourmedschool UCF/HCA EM Residency (Greater Orlando/Osceola)

We were thrilled to work with our friends from AdventHealth EM to collaborate on this fun and engaging learning experience! The theme of the day was “Music Festival” so the residents and students took the opportunity to dress for the occasion 🕺

Games included: Disaster trivia 🏆, an MCI resuscitation and procedure simulation 💊, START Triage Race 🏃🏾, and an EDM-themed escape room 🧩! Residents (and faculty) had a blast working together and learning together- can’t wait to share it with everyone!

Today was the UCF/HCA EM Residency (Greater Orlando/Osceola) and AdventHealth Central Florida #EmergencyMedicine #Residency #DisasterDay, lead by our own UCF HCA Healthcare HCA Florida Healthcare #UCFHCAGME #HCAGME Shayne Gue, MD, MSMEd, FACEP, FAAEM held at the @ourmedschool campus in Lake Nona! 🧵

And they had to treat #MassCasualty patients, including a severe head injury, penetrating chest wound, and traumatic amputation!

There were even awards for the winning #EmergencyMedicine #resident #EMResident teams! #MedEd #ActiveLearning #InnovateMedEd Congrats to the residents & thanks to the faculty from UCF/HCA EM Residency (Greater Orlando/Osceola) & AdventHealth Central Florida who helped put on this great event! And organizer Shayne Gue, MD, MSMEd, FACEP, FAAEM!
