Jessica Field’s Eviction describes the disruption that comes from Britain’s landlord-friendly tenancy laws, told through the prism of the battles fought by her mother and her neighbours to stay in their old coal mining estate in Oulton, on the edge of Leeds

Ahh very exciting to see them in your library John! MD was such an inspiration (& reference!!) for Eviction. I've been fortunate enough to read Holly Smith's book too and oh boy, the stuff she reveals about 60's tower block jerrybuilding is jaw dropping. Brilliant book!

So grateful to see EVICTION featured in the Camden New Journal! Other cases Dan Carrier highlights (eg Chalk Farm, Kentish Town) show exactly what I’m writing about: 150+ years of developers treating tenants as “moveable masses” camdennewjournal.co.uk/article/we-hav…

🚨🚨 WIN FOR RENTERS The House of Lords has just voted 215-204 to remove an amendment to the Renters' Rights Bill that would have weakened the ban on no-fault evictions by reducing disincentives for landlord abuse. A big win for our RRC members after some intensive campaigning!

🚨GREAT NEWS FOR RENTERS🚨 Last night, we defeated last-ditch amendments that would have weakened tenants' rights and shifted power back towards landlords. The Bill now just needs sign-off from the Commons (and the King) before becoming the Renters' Rights Act!
