In Gaza, civilians continue to be killed and injured as intense hostilities continue. Due to the ongoing restrictions of humanitarian assistance, people are also struggling to access basic goods, including fuel.

We’re devastated by the killing of our colleague Mahmoud Barakeh, who worked at the Red Cross Field Hospital. He was killed on his way home on Sunday 22 June. Our hearts are with his family and loved ones. Five colleagues have been killed in Gaza since October of 2023.

Today, a staff member at the Red Cross Field Hospital was injured by a stray bullet. Thankfully, he is stable and undergoing further treatment. This incident is unacceptable, and a reminder of the dangers civilians, medical staff, and patients experience every day in Gaza.

On May 28, 13-year-old Ezzedine was hit by a stray bullet while receiving care at the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah. He was transferred for specialized treatment but unfortunately died from his wounds yesterday. We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.

On Thursday, the Red Cross Field Hospital received 17 wounded women, with 2 declared dead on arrival. Those responsive said they had been trying to access distribution sites. The situation in Gaza is appalling. People cannot continue to live like this. More can & must be done.

Since May 27, the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah has treated over 4,500 weapon-wounded patients, most of whom said they were reaching food distribution sites when injured. It is unacceptable that people are being injured and killed while trying to feed their families.

📍Gaza City Medical staff are working under extreme conditions with limited supplies. We support health facilities including Al-Shifa Medical Complex with medical supplies. While military operations limit access, we are committed to providing relief with whatever means available.
