Had a great AISB Bucharest G1 team meeting planning engagement mess abouts and mother tongue language buddies for the sessions using Carla Marschall text ‘Concept Based Inquiry in Action’ as a guide. #collaboration #SupportingEAL
Look at what our awesome Tech Coach Sarah Hodgson created and shared with other schools today
Our ‘Mess About’ Carla Marschall was a huge hit! The engagement was incredible and their thinking in our reflection times showed such great insights! Language buddies enabled all kids to go deep with their thinking AISB Bucharest is full of #youngscientists!
Ss reflected on their understandings using vocab gathered in read alouds and knowledge gained from observations. Post-it vocab words, visual supports and language buddies allowed all Ss to share their understanding of the concepts studied! AISB Bucharest develops deep thinkers!
Using the #NGSS standards to guide our science inquiries. Ss were so engaged in making observations about light, transparency and color! AISB Bucharest is full of scientists!
Investigating AISB Bucharest student’s questions, encouraging them to make hypotheses and concluding statements. Ss recorded data and decided tools for measuring in. We changed the tool when we realized the 1st would be inefficient. #StudentVoice #StudentAgency
Using tens frame money to help visualize quantity of paper notes. 5 frames, 10 frames and single ones used to pay for goods at our ‘shop’. AISB Bucharest builds concrete understandings of abstract ideas!
It was great to start welcoming our families back for orientation today. AISB Bucharest Early Childhood Center is a beautiful space full of caring faculty who engaged in building relationships with our young learners and their families today!
Our KG team AISB Bucharest have created thoughtful spaces that invite our young learners into their new environments and set the tone for building language, collaboration and fine motor skills this year.
Our EC2 AISB Bucharest team provided provocations that were driven by student interest discovered during our student orientation session. It had a huge impact on how the children settled into their new spaces on day one!
Our AISB Bucharest EC4 team have done an amazing job at creating spaces that students can independently navigate around, developing student agency and autonomy in their own learning!
Our AISB Bucharest ELC families are wonderful. Today I shared provocations with a group of parents and explored how to support mathematical understanding in young learners. Every parent joined in, took risks, shared their thinking. It was inspiring to be part of!
