HMRC referred 322 to Samaritans.

We’re very concerned about #HMRC ’s use of s.684 notices, the latest way they’re retrospectively pursue people mis-sold remuneration schemes.

This is not using ‘normal’ powers as specified by the Morse Review, so it undermines a key recommendation & is another abuse of power.

I asked my C/Worker @ HMRC on 30 Jan ‘24 if I settle & then these companies want their loans paid back, on top of what I would have settled, their response below. I will ask again this week. I’m dying to know their official response

Sharing another email response from my case worker at HMRC, when I questioned what will happen if I settle the loan charge with HMRC, but the loan promoters ask me to pay their loans back in years to come, because it’s a loan after all.

I questioned HMRC (case worker) about tackling the promoters & what they are doing about it. Her response. I really don’t think they are doing anything.
