Today, we held a press conference with @atcems, @austin_police, and City of Austin leaders to discuss the surge of opioid overdoses in Austin yesterday.

NEW: Travis County Attorney Delia Garza says her office has received 65 cases for criminal trespassing after UT protests yesterday, calls on UT to find a “compromise” with demonstrators and that her office has been overwhelmed with cases.

“It does not seem sustainable.”

Amazing news! There should never have been a question of criminal charges, misdemeanor or felony, against a journalist reporting on the protests like that.
