Forcing all teachers to teach the same way from the same manual is not only bad for teachers, it's bad for kids, too. We can't tell teachers to be flexible and responsive one day, and then strip their autonomy away the next day. It's just not sustainable.

I've worked in a lot of schools. And let me say this... when you adopt a curriculum and then require teachers to teach it exactly as-is, IT LITERALLY NEVER WORKS. Give it a try if you really want to, but be warned, you will piss teachers off--and your students will not grow.
