🔬 New research by Jan Michiels @LiselotDW Celien Bollen and colleagues (VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology) in Nature Communications shows how protein 'clumps' drive bacteria into a state of dormancy, with implications for antibiotic resistance. 👉 Read here vibbio.tech/4jx0JFY FWO KU Leuven
🥳 The province Vlaams-Brabant has invested in the innovative MicrobeSpotter project of Michiels lab (in collab with VIB, KU Leuven, imec and Comate) to develop a diagnostic platform, revolutionizing UTI treatment with faster diagnosis & reduced antibiotic use
The data was generated by 5 different people Lieze Agten Sang D. Nguyen, Nele Geerts, Laurence Van Moll and Laure Verstraete. It was fun to put this together with Philip Ruelens! Big thanks to everyone else involved and of course to my funding FWO
