We're excited for 4 days of #DGPs2024🤩 What we'll be up to: 1️⃣ A keynote on plastic pollution (Sabine Pahl) 2⃣ A talk on social misperceptions (Sandra Geiger) 3⃣ A poster on climate protests (Jana K Köhler @[email protected] & SCAN-Unit) 4⃣ A talk on risk perceptions of pollutants (Nina Vaupotič)
What an inspiring first full day at #DGPs2024! ✨🤯 We are delighted to see a lot of #environmentalpsychology represented, from this morning's keynote by Sabine Pahl, to a panel discussion on psychology and the climate crisis, and of course posters research talks. 🧠🌿
It's sadly already the last day of #DGPs2024😢but luckily, this is not the last conference this week🥳 We are also represented at the 24h Political Psychology Conference with two talks: 1⃣ on emotional consensus (Matthias Nowoczyn) & 2⃣ on pluralistic ignorance (Sandra Geiger)
I’m looking forward to 24h of Political Psychology today & tomorrow Universität Wien and a relaxing weekend afterwards 🛋️📖🍵 Thanks for organizing, u:lia | julia-reiter.bsky.social, Elisabeth Graf, Markus Wagner & Isabella Rebasso!
Knowledge matters more for risk perception of environmental risks people know little (vs lots) about, e.g. underwater noise..🐟🔊 ..is what Nina Vaupotič found among N > 4,000 respondents from 5 diverse EU countries. 🌍Source to Seas - Zero Pollution 2030 Excellent talk in the early AM🦉Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie (DGPs)
After an eventful week with many talks about environmental psychological topics at #DGPs2024 (DGPs JuMis // ECRs) and #24polpsy (Political Psychology Network DE), it’s time to go home and enjoy the weekend 🚃🌿🧘🏼♀️ Öffis nützen, Klima schützen - use public transport to protect the climate! Another multi-country study (🇺🇸🇧🇷🇪🇸) led by Claudio Rosa, with involvement from our team, just got published Journal of Environmental Psychology. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 1⃣ Those who regularly engage in nature-based recreation feel better.
The EnvPsyVienna conference autumn goes into the next round🔔: Soc. Environmental, Population, Conservation Psych's 3rd Virtual Conference on 'Psychology for a Resilient Future' is happening today & tomorrow with exciting contributions from our team: Leonie Fian / [email protected], Jana K Köhler @[email protected] , Mathew White & Katharina Koller. ⬇️
That was so much fun! Thanks Soc. Environmental, Population, Conservation Psych for an extremely well-organized conference, the other inspiring speakers Katharina Koller & Xuwen Hua, Robyn Wilson for chairing, and all listeners for great questions and food for thought! 🧠💡 #Div34Online
Throwback to #Div34Online conference Soc. Environmental, Population, Conservation Psych: Katharina Koller found that a role-playing game to discuss #GreenJob policies in Austrian schools fostered belief in #ClimateChange, but didn't significantly boost collective efficacy or action intentions. 🌍#ClimateEducation
Jana K Köhler @[email protected] spoke with DER STANDARD about #climate change coping (bit.ly/vö). ⚕️Climate anxiety is a public #health risk 🤝Discuss emotions & take a manageable amount of impactful action 🚨People need policymakers to lift the weight of individual responsibility
