Ian Edard Kroe (57) was denied probation & sentenced to prison for 394 yrs to life. After arrest by Belmont Police Dept., he was convicted of 33 felonies for the repeated rape, torture & imprisonment of an elderly woman, who stated at sentencing she, "survived beyond all odds."
Erick Estrada Cardenas (37) pled no contest to drug possession, arson, and admitted to a prior felony strike. At the time of his arrest by SMC Probation Deputies, he was on parole with an active warrant, and had 11 prior felony convictions. He will be sentenced Aug 4.

Mario Aguilar Espinoza (53) found guilty of felony vandalism & misdemeanor battery. In Oct '24, Espinoza shattered a glass bus shelter in front of witnesses, was then denied boarding the bus, then broke a window on the bus with a rock, and spat on responding Menlo Park PD.
Brandon Shawn Salinas (42) was arrested in March by San Mateo County Sheriff's Office for possession of drug paraphernalia & carrying a concealed 24-inch machete. He was found guilty by a jury of both charges after 30 minutes of deliberations. He remains in custody, with another felony trial to come.
Richard Smith (38) identified at sentencing by the judge as, "every parent's worst nightmare," was sentenced to 52 months in prison for luring who he thought was a 14 yr old girl to a park for sex, where he was arrested by San Mateo Police Department. Unfortunately for him, "Maggie" was a decoy.
Marcelo Enrique Pallais (46) pled no contest to felony possession of methamphetamine, sentenced to 2 yrs probation, 1 year county jail. San Mateo County Sheriff's Office deputies witnessed the purchase at a train station in April. He has 6 prior convictions for possession, 2 in the past 2 years.
