Interview with Harvard Divinity Prof of Judaism, Jon Levenson on his new book on Shabbat in newest HDS Bulletin! I key aspect of the epistemology of AI that I stress is that it lacks a sense of truth, and thus a sense of error, and accuracy. This paper is another important argument that supports becoming far more careful about using human cognitive terms to describe AI.

muticellorganism Yes, because I think that is how biology controls itself - each level bends the option space for the lower levels, aligning the competent subunits to the same self- and world-model (with different degrees of bending their will). Cells convince molecular networks, tissues

When I lived in London, I often visited the National Gallery. My favorite paintings were by Rembrandt,I believe he was a righteous person. His use of light, reminded me of the rabbinic teaching about the light of Creation…I think he captured that very hidden light. ~Harav Kook

You’re welcome! I was teaching Yale’s Divinity’s Medieval Christianity course at the time, and Boethius was a high point for me as well. I was suffering from a severe illness, and teaching the book was literally consoling. It’s one of the top 5 for me I’d take anywhere.

It’s not everyday you get to say, “This is a groundbreaking conversation.” It’s was a great privilege to convene this conversation and learn from Eire and Harrison about how their scholarship has reshaped their epistemologies. The best scholarship makes us more open-minded.
