Centre ground and realistic unionist hoping the union remains because the people of Northern Ireland want to retain it. Abhors the behaviour of the other Sammy!

John Longworth Because we are the supplicants John. It's that simple. That's *because* the EU is just *more* powerful than the UK is...sorry and all that but it's true.

Starmer pretty emphatic...
Q: There are reports Labour may retain the Rwanda scheme flights for some time in govt until you negotiate different returns agreements, is that correct? Are you considering retaining the scheme for a period?
A: No, I don't believe in the scheme.

“You can either deal with the issue - or you can do something performative and tell The Sun you’ve put one man on a plane to Rwanda.”

Brexit was always going to be a SHITSHOW (in capitals!) Obvious from outer space. Could not and was not ever going to be any other way.

Whitehall knew it. The EU knew it. Even most of its cheerleaders knew it. Where are they now?

The disgrace here is of a Conservative MP who thinks they are speaking for Gibraltar but appears to be paying no attention to what the actual government of the territory is saying and doing because this is becoming just another excuse to say bad things about the EU.

Worth saying, given that the PM conspicuously didn't, that the PSNI and UK immigration officials have broadly comparable powers to Gardaí under Schedule 3 of the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019. They enforce the same sort of checks as are being employed in Ireland:

If you want an example of British/white exceptionalism, look no further

I happen to know several illegal immigrants living in Spain who look like Simon.

The Telegraph published something like 5,245,133,633,656 articles attacking high immigration.

And then they went and did this...

👇👇Ah, and this is where difficulties with Ireland on migration will backfire. The EU & Member States will back their own. Sunak knows ‘migration’ will not be solved without EU cooperation. Rwanda cannot handle the numbers!.

In almost any other jurisdiction in the world, this maniac would have been shot dead. He lives to be tried for his appalling crimes because we have a routinely unarmed police service full of extraordinarily brave men and women.

It feels like the tides are finally starting to turn on this.

Allowing a few thousand unelected & unaccountable people to appoint a Prime Minister is fundamentally anti-democratic.

The choice should be returned to elected MPs, who are answerable to the public for their choices.

👇Good man Sammy, YOU spent years arguing for a HARD BORDER after Brexit and we got the Irish Sea Border (after your ERG friends shafted you). Keep poking this issue and we’ll end up with the CTA collapsed & a passport border, again at the Irish Sea.

Again, a reminder this is what Jimbo, Bin Boy & Ben Habib & the Reform nut jobs want at the Irish Land Border.
