I'm relieved at the election outcome and grateful to so many that made it possible. Thank you to every election worker helping run a fair process. To the media that defended the truth. And to each of you that voted or spoke up for participating in this wonderful democracy. 🇺🇸

Most protein function predictors only make predictions for labels seen in training. We used LLM embeddings of text describing protein function to train ProtNote, which can generalize to new functional labels described in free text. Code is available for everybody to try!

We made sequences generated by EvoDiff in the lab! - Unconditional generations express, fold, and exhibit expected secondary structure elements - We inpaint functional intrinsically-disordered regions and scaffold binders

wet-lab validation of proteins designed by EvoDiff! - generated proteins express and are structured - inpainted, disordered mitochondrial targeting signals function in yeast - sequence-space motif scaffolding designs functional binders to Ca2+, MDM2 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Microsoft Research's Sarah Alamdari was speaking at Applied Machine Learning Days in Lausanne today. Good timing to showcase how their team was using our lab to validate their new protein design model, EvoDiff 💡🧬 More details below!
