~ Quinn was more of a manly man, one that wouldn’t dare own matching furniture or even table lamps. I guess I really couldn’t judge this book by the cover. I looked around the room, trying to see if there was something not super bulky to wear, actively trying to occupy my ~

~mind and keep my hands away from my phone. Mat didn’t deserve a phone call from me, or even a text for that matter. I looked behind the closet door and found an old pair of Quinn sweats and a t-shirt. They smelled clean so I dropped the towel and quickly dressed myself. I ~

~ let my hair cascade down my back and shoulders, tossing the towel over the side of the bed. Instinctively putting one foot in front of the other, I followed the life giving aroma of coffee down the long hallway and into the kitchen hoping it wasn’t Folgers or some cheap crap.~

* Quickly unlocking my office door and walking thru the waiting room, I turned on an interior hall light. I didn’t want any of my neighbors or clients who might be near by to know that I had stopped in to gather a few things and alert Matheus Furlain that I was in town. The last ~

~thing I wanted was to be caught off guard and forced to deal with the relationship drama I found myself in yet again. Walking into my office, I grabbed an extra computer cord, a few files and my portable hard drive to shove into an empty gym bag I had stashed under my desk. If ~

~ I was going to stay on the run for a while longer, I was going to need to be able to keep Matheus Furlain at a safe distance. I knew him as a vampire before and honestly I wanted nothing to do with it. When it all came down to it, I just didn’t know what I wanted anymore.*

*Between new clients and the boutique booming, I’d been spending more time at the office than at home. Mostly on purpose though if I’m being honest. I hadn’t said maybe 15 words to Matheus Furlain in maybe a week and he seemed to be perfectly fine with it. ~

~Things are weird between us since I left town with Quinn . I’m not sure if Matheus Furlain really understands the amount of trouble we are actually in. I have always thought that we could endure whatever came our way, but this vampire thing has really just pushed me to a ~

~limit I didn’t even know existed. Walking from the corridor to my office, I flip off the lights in the storage room that holds all of the client files that need to be shredded by my assistant Jackie. If it weren’t for that girl running interference between Matheus Furlain and I, ~

~ lately, I’m not sure I would still have my head on straight. I hadn’t even had a chance to talk to Quinn about that night yet. I wasn’t ashamed of anything, but It wasn’t exactly my most proud moment either. Quinn had become a good friend and a trusted confidant even ~

~though I’m sure Matheus Furlain would have a thing or two to say about my relationship with Quinn . Especially … now. Plopping down into my desk chair, I open my computer to look at iCal hoping to find my schedule booked as to avoid going home if at all possible.*

*Jumping up and out of my chair as soon as @AbbyMasonBT makes herself known, I immediately let out a deep breath to keep from having a heart attack* Damn it Abby , you know there is such a thing as a phone… You should try using it sometime. You scared me *again* !
