First proper debate on Palestine in over six months in the Vic parliament and what do Labor do? 1/3

Labor and Liberal joined forces to reject a petition from thousands of Victorians calling to end deals with weapons companies responsible for killing thousands of Palestinians.

Labor were too cowardly to speak in the debate, & showed absolute contempt for peace.

Cowards.

Vic parliament has ruled that we're unable to wear keffiyehs or items representing Palestinian solidarity.

One of the first parliaments in the world to do so.

Our resistance can’t be quashed. They may try to control what we wear, but they will never be able to silence our words

In the middle of a housing crisis, Labor’s first budget under the new Premier had nothing for renters and no new money for housing.

So this week, the Victorian Greens are bringing our bill for a rent freeze to a debate in the Upper House. greens.org.au/vic/news/media…

Even Labor’s own members don’t agree with Premier Allan’s public housing destruction plans.

Time to abandon this privatisation agenda and get on with directly building thousands of public homes to ease the worsening housing crisis.

Labor’s decision to cave into the fossil fuel industry & back the burning of gas for decades to come in the midst of a climate crisis is a betrayal of every young person’s future & its promise on climate action.

We will remember.

If you want change, you have to vote for it.

Civilians were told to shelter in Rafah and now their lives hang in the balance.

I hope world leaders can finally find some moral courage and stop this next assault on Palestinians.

In Australia, that means Labor must end its ties with Israeli military & weapons manufacturers.

The Victorian Labor government have delivered a do-nothing budget.

Nothing for renters. Nothing for new homes. Nothing to stop supermarket price gouging.

If you're struggling to pay the rent and afford groceries, life is going to get harder.

What the government is proposing is just more tinkering around the edges that won't fix the crisis.
