I believe you should always re-read your favorite books at different stages of your life. The plot never changes but your perspective does.

Libraries were a good start, but we need more places where people can’t talk.

Document your life in photographs and writing. Let there be markers clearly showing where the time went. Don’t take moments for granted because moments make up lifetimes. Love people and treat them with kindness. Be patient. Speak up. Rest. Take care of yourself.

I see no lies here

Your local librarian here to say that it’s great if you read lots of books this year, alright if you read barely anything, that audiobooks, romance and graphic novels are all valid formats and genres, and that some authors suck but we’re still not stopping you from reading them.

If you just take 10 minutes each day to read something you enjoy, whether it’s a novel, magazine, article, comic book, etc, I promise it will have a positive impact on you.

Those who decide to stop learning once they leave school puzzle me. I still don’t know half the things I’d like to know about folklore, word origins & the medieval calendar but I find that exciting. My lack of knowledge keeps me reading. You have to let your curiosity drive you.

With fewer and fewer people reading every year, it’s urgent that you read daily. I don’t care why you do it: because it’s good for you, good for the world, because of the joy & renewal it brings. I just need you to read. Your life will be immeasurably richer if you read.
