I was recently hanging out with friends. I told them about a mutual friend who quit school and now works at a shop. Both friends reacted immediately with "Thought he was smart..." and "What a loser!" I was ashamed. Not sure whether or not they're still friends.

I never understood the point of setting unrealistic goals. I tend to be quite conservative. Turns out less competition and a bigger payoff make it worthwhile to pursue. I'll stay conservative for investments, though.
