The NYPD threw a girl down a staircase, knocking her unconscious in front of cameras and with the full permission of the school she pays tuition to, and democrats are here smugly spreading conspiracy theories like trumpers. Don't pretend to care about democracy.

I live by Columbia. Tonight I went for a walk & saw 10+ blocks rapidly barricaded, dozens of police vehicles flying by, large groups of NYPD in riot gear gathering.

I don’t know how you can be a teacher and see students being just terrorized at 100 campuses—gassed, beaten, arrested, expelled, choked, blinded—and not want to use your body or any means necessary to protect them. This is a rotten system. This is not education.

Columbia University faculty have linked arms at the entrance of the encampment as the 2p deadline passes for students to vacate or face suspension.

*This* is what Presidents and Boards *should* be doing. That Presidents and Boards aren’t going to the encampments and sitting with students, hearing and understanding their demands, negotiating, and finding a way forward is *wild* to me.
