The future of pipetting! Love kicking back, relaxing, and watching our Opentrons robot do my extractions for me 🤖 🧬 🦠 🤖 (thanks so much to Jon Sanders for the robot lessons and the awesome 3D printed labware!)

Lots of work showing differences between urban and wild microbiomes in animals. But what happens when we compare those shifts to Urban and Rural humans? Check out our early access paper to find out! @Gunderwhelming Shane Campbell-Staton, Ph.D. Albert Chung elifesciences.org/articles/76381

No better way to end a Friday than by doing some preliminary analysis on data from a big experiment and seeing how great it looks! Exactly what I expected! Especially after I messed up my code at first and thought there was no effect😭such a relief I cant wait to dive into it

Thanks ASM EEB #ASMicrobe for a great set of talks in the “Origins and Consequences of Microbial Strain Diversity” symposium. My takeaway: regardless of the system, strain diversity is IMPORTANT! A couple of SNPs can have enormous implications for other microbes and for hosts.

We all know that changes in diet change the community composition of the gut, but do they also act as a selective pressure that can lead the evolution of individual microbial lineages? Come to my poster (EEB1134) today to see some preliminary data! #ASMicrobe
