Tonight saw the launch of Salt Fair 2023 - Cllr Ernie Welch read The Royal Charter to hold an annual fair that was granted by King Edward I in 1280. The annual fair is always to be held on the closest Wednesday to the 14th September every year.

The Mayor was also handed a certificate of appreciation by the ladies of Future 4 Fairgrounds who post-covid wanted to raise awareness and understanding of the travelling Fun Fair by Steve Smith with showman Harry Smith alongside

Don't forget folk - programmes for sale only £1 tomorrow night at the opening of the fair at 6pm by the Town Mayor Cllr Ernie Welch - they usually get snapped up quickly, each programme contains money off vouchers to use on the fair (one token only to be used per ride).
