Thailand is going ahead with its flagship cash handout scheme. Prime Minister Srettha @thavsin's has presented its finalized plans for the #ดิจิทัลวอลเล็ต ('Digital Wallet') today, in a bid to revive a lackluster economy. Here's my @channelnewsasia report with the details.

Essentially yes. PM Srettha and others have said before they want to 'spread it around' the country and said along the lines of it's another good reason to visit home again. Originally the time limit to spend it was 6 months, not sure if there's still a limit now.

The Bank of Thailand's decision to keep the benchmark interest rate at 2.5% for the third meeting in a row will certainly be met with displeasure by PM Srettha Srettha Thavisin, who's been banging on about the need to lower it to counter lackluster growth.

The Committee voted 5 to 2 to maintain the policy rate at 2.50 percent. Two MPC members voted to cut the policy rate by 0.25 percentage point.
