There should be more concern given to the money that changes hands between teams and players in the various OLA leagues. A direct NCAA Compliance violation at the DI, DII, and DIII levels. In addition to openly exchanging players rights for “cash”, both define a “pro” league.

Because the OLA pressured players/parents to pay a $500 fine instead. The “penalty” went from 2 Years down to $500. The coaches they suspended weren’t given that option, because the Board Member needed a “win” to push the agenda forward and apply it to all non-OLA lacrosse.

My favourite part of of the Ontario Lacrosse situation is you could get cut from team Ontario then be told you're not allowed to play for another unsanctioned travel team. If you can tell a kids he's not good enough you shouldn't be able to tell them what they can or can't do.

Imo this is going to lead to more people choosing to go the club/private route like the states vs actually sticking with the CLA. Ultimatums are a fast way to see if you have nearly the leverage you may think.

Even with the two partial walk backs the amount of DMs I’m fielding is ridiculous. If the Ontario Lacrosse wants to do the right thing there is a simple solution…don’t make blanket statements about banning kids which are always applied selectively
