Brandon M. Scott So sad to see this. Dante always brought so much love, humor and wisdom to the brave work he did. Safe Streets Baltimore workers put their lives on the line to fight gun violence in Baltimore.

Joseph Sakran Safe Streets Baltimore Thank you, Dante. Rest In Peace.
Hallie Miller Justin Fenton This one hits home. I spent many days in my Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD) office as the agency's #PIO hanging with Dante and talking #Baltimorecrime. I always respected the efforts of Safe Streets Baltimore guys to turn their lives around and make #Baltimore a better place. theatlantic.com/business/archi…

I am shocked & devastated by the killing of Dante Barksdale. Dante taught me so much as a leader of Safe Streets Baltimore. He has saved countless lives. We will all miss his compassion, charisma & caring. What a terrible loss for Baltimore & the world. baltimoresun.com/news/crime/bs-…

For many of our Safe Streets colleagues in Sandtown-Winchester and Brooklyn-Curtis Bay, Dante Barksdale was a friend & inspiration. We hold his memory, his family, and his community in our hearts. Stop shooting. Start living. Safe Streets Baltimore

This morning we lost an amazing leader in Dante “Tater” Barksdale from Safe Streets Baltimore. We have been a proud partner of Safe Streets and lucky enough to advocate along Dante and others over the years. baltimoresun.com/news/crime/bs-…

Today, Baltimore lost a remarkable man. Our hearts go out to the Safe Streets Baltimore team and everyone who was touched by Dante Barksdale's kindness and strength. Rest In Peace.

Rest In Power. Our brother Dante is looking over our city now. Your radiant smile and unstoppable energy and insight lifted up everyone around you. Listen to his words: youtube.com/watch?v=84m1T1…. Our prayers are with his family and friends Safe Streets Baltimore

Dante Barksdale, a true hero in the struggle to reduce violence in Baltimore, a leader & mentor of Safe Streets Baltimore, a nationally respected member of the CureViolence family tragically shot and killed yesterday. He is being mourned throughout the country nyti.ms/2LZAFIa

City Hall is lit orange in honor of Dante Tater Barksdale and the critical work Safe Streets Baltimore does each and every day. We will not allow the light of a man who saved thousands of lives in our city to be dampened.

Kicked off the day with Safe Streets Baltimore for a spring giveaway in the Brooklyn Homes Community and ended it with a snowball from Ice Queens, the best snowball shop in Baltimore! After this year, it feels great to be back out in the community.

Last year, our Safe Streets Baltimore teams in McElderry Park and Belair Edison successfully mediated 661 potentially dangerous conflicts before they escalated to unnecessary gun violence. #STATurday #weareinthistogether #StopShootingStartLiving #conflictmediation
