The family killed at West Portal was on foot, waiting for the bus, and didn’t live in the neighborhood.

People who walk & ride transit should matter first, no matter where they live or if they own a business.

This is a classic failure of North American planning: the idea that a committee of Concerned Merchants and Residents with little to no expertise can sit down and come up with a real solution that isn’t just a rehashing of vibes and narratives of the way the feel things should be.

The time has come to really rally in support of keeping the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge path, & in opposition to the closure proposed at a meeting this Thursday, May 2nd.

Traffic safety activists performed a little guerilla action on Tuesday morning, installing plastic signs along the Wiggle, San Francisco's premiere bike route, to tell cars to slow down & yield.

Will the changes remain? They sure hope so.

Yep, signs are coming out unfortunately. Lasted over 48 hours though, and thousands of people got to see how much better the street can be with such a simple change.
