Many congratulations to Valeriia Blinova who has (subject to the usual corrections) passed her PhD. Valeriia won best paper awards at CIKM and SIGIR and working with an RMIT School of Computing Technologies undergratuate student she published a full paper at ACL. Incredible work Valeriia!

Great job Sachin PC presenting at the ACM ICMI Official #icmi2024 conference in the amazing Costa Rica 🦜 This collaboration with Ujwal Gadiraju and TU Delft | AI Initiative started with Ujwal’s visit to @AdmsCentre followed by Sachin’s research stay in Delft as part of my Australian Research Council DECRA RMIT School of Computing Technologies

"Metamorphic Evaluation of ChatGPT as a Recommender System" a cool short paper from an RMIT School of Computing Technologies student, Madhurima Khirbat, showing how superficial changes in prompts can result in substantial change in #gpt #recsys style output @AdmsCentre arxiv.org/abs/2411.12121

We've kicked off the #SIGIRAP2024 Satellite event at RMIT School of Computing Technologies in Melbourne with a great keynote by Peter Bailey from #canva. Moving on to the hybrid talks in Tokyo. Next up, Marwah Alaofi on fooling #LLMs W/Paul Thomas Falk Scholer and Mark Sanderson. #sigirap2024 RMIT University RMIT School of Computing Technologies

Mark Sanderson Mark Sanderson is delivering a keynote for SIGIR-AP SIGIR-AP 2025 Melbourne hub about opportunities and challenges to evaluating generative retrieval. Mentioned about paper dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.114…

Starting Day 2 of #SIGIRAP2024 in Melbourne with a thought provoking talk on Generative IR evaluation by Mark Sanderson Tackling some controversial topics is a perfect way to re-energize after last night’s social mixer 😄 With a reference to yesterday's talk by Peter Bailey

Loved this #sigirap2024 talk from Fernando Diaz. Often wondered if alternatives to the arithmetic mean were worth using, I got my positive answer in this talk.

Amazing work by Marwah Alaofi w/ Paul Thomas Falk Scholer and Mark Sanderson at #SIGIRAP2024 🇯🇵
