We found wild dogs hunting in the eastern part of our reserve. They are hard to follow as they dash across open and dense areas, chasing everything from wildebeest to impalas, even when spotted. Hyenas often follow, hoping to snatch some scraps if the dogs make a kill. #wilddogs

We spotted the majestic Mashaba female #leopard as she strolled confidently along the road. Suddenly, her demeanour shifted, and she embarked on a hunt for a duiker concealed behind a termite mound. Despite her agility and determination, the duiker managed to evade her grasp.

There is an undeniable bond within a herd of #elephants and watching how they interact this closely is a privilege. Knowing that this calf will remain close to her mother, one wonders if she too will take on the role of the Matriarch one day. tinyurl.com/yvyyy3ss

The Msuthlu Pride caught our attention again with a waterbuck kill in the middle of the day. After recently feasting on a wildebeest, these dedicated females, many with young cubs, ensure their offspring are well-fed and produce nutritious milk for them. #lions #safari

As we ventured into the afternoon safari, our eyes caught sight of this elusive animal. It rested under a tree, yet its attentive gaze never ceased to scan its surroundings. A herd of wildebeest approached, but the #cheetah ignored them as they were too big to waste energy on.

The Msuthlu Pride has been with the Gijima males for a few days. After tracking them, we found them on a buffalo kill made early morning. All the cubs were there, full & resting in the shade. Having males helps take down larger prey like buffalo, sustaining the pride longer. #lions

An African sunset paints the sky with vibrant oranges, casting a warm glow over the vast savanna. Silhouettes of trees become dark against the vibrant sky, creating a scene of serene beauty. #sunset #safari

We found the Msuthlu Pride resting with full stomachs.Hyenas were close by, sniffing around the area of the kill, but we could not identify what the lions had eaten. The younger female also showed us her 4 new #cubs who were well-hidden from the hyenas & other danger. #lions

Nottins was sleeping on a termite mound where he stayed for the duration of our safari. It seemed like he trying to get some warmth from the mound, but as we looked around, we realised that he was stalking some warthogs in a burrow on the other side of the termite mound. #leopard

Normally shy and stealthy, this Nile Crocodile was feeling the heat of the day. To cool down, it opened its mouth, allowing air to pass over the fleshy membranes in its throat, which helps cool the blood. #crocodile #safari

Tengile was hunting, taking every chance she could with any prey she found. She tried to make the most of the light drizzle, but she wasn’t successful. With a cub, she must provide food regularly, seizing every hunting opportunity to increase the cub’s chances of survival. #safari

We came across a clan of hyenas in an open area, finishing off the remains of an elephant that had died in a riverbed. We stayed with them for a while and watched as they chased each other around, carrying bones and bits of skin. #hyena #wildlife #nature

We followed the tracks of Mashaba as she walked along the road. This led us to her duiker kill, which she had hoisted up a tree. She soon climbed the tree & rested near her kill. For a female leopard, a small antelope will provide enough food to last a while before hunting again.

Spotting a leopard isn't easy, but we were lucky to see Khulwana, a young male, moving through the thickets. Marking territory that belongs to another male shows his growing confidence. At 5 years old, he's in his prime & ready to claim a territory of his own. #leopard

We spent time tracking lions near Earth Lodge. We soon found the Southern Pride resting with full bellies. The main lioness sensed something was wrong—and she was right. Later, we spotted 2 male #lions sniffing the pride's trail, posing a threat. Only time will tell if they meet.
