Durham ACF, A Company Detachment of the year 2024

Well done and thank you to A - Company, @DurhamACF who raised almost £1000 for ACCT UK in 2024. They had great fun fundraising, with lots of creative ideas including: - a sponsored walk - this incredible movember effort by Shaun Elliot - a name-the-bear competition (HOW cute?)

Tonight, we had the pleasure of hosting St John Ambulance at our detachment. The cadets thoroughly enjoyed the session, finding it both engaging and highly informative.

Yesterday, I attended the South Tyneside Armed Forces Forum at South Shields Town Hall. The forum brings together various external agencies to provide updates & allows time for networking. It also offers opportunities for the Cadet Forces to collab with other organisations.

On Thursday evening, we were visited by Northumbria Police for a valuable community session. The visit included a presentation on knife crime, raising awareness among our cadets about the dangers, consequences, and impact of carrying knives. Northumbria Police

Thursday evening the detachment will be holding a special evening celebrating 20+ years of proud affiliation between the Royal British Legion. Cadets will receive their RBL badge. Didn’t get the result I wanted on my Skill at Arms Instructor course. Gutted, yeah—but not defeated. These things happen, and I’ll be back at some point. Proud of how far I’ve come, proud of the effort I put in, and proud to keep pushing forward.
