In a major crackdown against illicit liquor on 23.08.24, under the leadership of SDPO Sadar & DSP City, Balasore Police, in conjunction with the Excise Department, conducted raids in Puruna Balasore area, seizing & destroyed 20,000 litres of wash and 500 litres of illicit liquor.

In early hours of 24.08.24, Town PS, Balasore raided the Patrapara area, thwarting a major dacoity attempt. Six individuals were arrested after a brief chase. Police seized two swords, two homemade bombs, and seventeen stolen motorcycles. The investigation is ongoing.

Prompt action of Sahadevkhunta PS led to the apprehension of 5 armed individuals while they were preparing to commit dacoity. A total of 11 bikes were recovered from their possession which were stolen from various places in Bhadrak and Balasore. Further investigation is underway.

With the combined efforts of IsIC Khaira & Khantapada PSs, 4 cases of tractor theft have been successfully detected from Bhadrak and Balasore area. 4 tractors have been seized and 2 accused having prior criminal records at Keonjhar, Bhadrak & Jajpur districts have been arrested.

Baliapal Police was successful in busting a bike theft gang apprehending 5 accused and recovering 6 stolen bikes from their possession. These gang targets bikes parked in busy market places, banks, hospitals etc. Further investigation for recovery is underway.

Acting on credible information, Cyber Crime PS raided a fake call centre in Karanjia, leading to the arrest of 3 accused persons, seized 2 laptops, a WagonR car, 16 mobile phones, SIM cards & ATM cards linked to cyber fraud for issuing fancy phone numbers through Bulk SMS app.

Under the IIC's leadership, Simulia Police detected Garsanga PHC burglary, recovering all stolen items from three accd. individuals. The accd. individuals also confessed to and led to recover stolen items from two other cases. Locals feliciated the team for successful detection.

The Balasore Town Police have apprehended and forwarded two individuals involved in a violent altercation on 07.09.24. Registered under Town PS, the case involves serious charges and underscores our ongoing commitment to justice and public safety.

Under direction of SP BALASORE, Town PS team apprehended three accused involved in a coordinated attack with sharp-edged weapons during the Ganesh Idol immersion procession on 9.9.24 near Congress Office Lane where one person was injured. Further investigation continues.

Under supervision of SP BALASORE, DSP City & IIC,Town PS apprehended 2 robbers & forwarded to Court who had targeted a Bandhan Bank agent on 10.09.24. Team has recovered Rs 42,000, a used Apache motorcycle, & a knife. Efforts are underway to catch an additional absconding suspect

An award ceremony was held today at Gandhi Smruti Bhawan to honor clubs for their remarkable performances in various categories in the Sri Ganesh Idol immersion procession. The event was graced by DIG,ER, Collector & DM Balasore, SP BALASORE, & attended by other senior officers.

On 11/12.9.24, IA PS arrested 3 of 7 suspects near Bottling Plant Field, Chhanpur, who were armed & planning dacoity on NH-16. Seized items included swords, a kitchen knife, iron pipes, 4 motorcycles, & live ammunition. Efforts continue to apprehend the rest absconding suspects.

On 17.09.2024, during a theft report verification in Dyna bus from Bhadrak to Balasore, Khantapada PS detected an NDPS case and arrested a woman from Fulbani and seized 6.404 KG of Ganja and an OPPO smartphone from her exclusive possession. Further investigation is ongoing.

Jaleswar PS detected an NDPS case and arrested one interstate drug trafficker during a blocking near Agarwal Bypass, seizing 285 grams of contraband brown sugar worth Rs 28.50 lakh from his possession. Further investigation to track his accomplices is ongoing. #SayNoToDrugs
