One essential similarity between Science and Religion is there would be a segment of people who would be abusing both to make the masses believe their agenda. Once religion was used to fool people now it's Science. Both are ways to explore nature. ThereIsNoComparisonNoDebate.

Why do we think that at some point in time AI which is going to be more evolved than human Intelligence is going to take over that world and do shit things? I think it's Human intelligence which thinks as such not AI because when our intelligence was dominant, we did the same.
