SNPsaurus is now offering Illumina PE 150 sequencing of bacterial genomes: library prep, sequencing to 60X read depth, assembly, annotation, and alignment to a reference with variant calling--starting at $69/sample. See snpsaurus.com/illumina-bacte…

Good advice about types of artifacts from RAD methods. Defining loci "clusters" is ripe for artifacts...I think getting draft or better assemblies is a good way to avoid some artifacts that result from "flying blind" with a de novo reference. x.com/JonPuritz/stat…

The RAD-seq paper just passed 2000 citations. Great group of people involved--Nate Baird (now at Illumina) and Paul Etter (at SNPsaurus with me) worked through the details and Bill Cresko William Cresko gave insights and collegiality. Pleased PLOS One published it w/ wide readership.

Added HIFI accurate reads to our PacBio services. Bacteria starting at $300/sample; yeast $400, C. elegans $600. Rethink PacBio being for the final step of projects and consider it a single-platform solution for excellent genome information in single samples or populations.

Interested in bacterial methylation with PacBio? Just add $25 per sample to get a boost in read depth to 100X and additional bioinformatics to find enriched motifs in the genome. Regular assembly/annotation starting at $300/sample and now methylation projects starting at $325.

We were some of the original developers of RAD-Seq, but we think that for species with genome sizes under 600 Mb it now makes more sense to do whole genome genotyping (WGS at 10X read depth)--see some example project pricing below or at snpsaurus.com/whole-genome-g… #RADSeq

SNPsaurus is excited to offer a new PacBio service: full-length sequencing of individual plasmids for as low as $15/plasmid. No need to order primers to walk into a long insert. No charge if the plasmid isn't returned as a single sequence! snpsaurus.com/plasmid-sequen…

Even little Billy of the Family Circus wishes he could be doing some long-read genome sequencing with the PacBio Sequel, it appears!

This article hits a pet peeve of mine. It says "RADSeq" in the title but it uses the ddRAD method. This is important because the study is a diverse genus of moth. Not a diverse species, but 43 samples and 32 species. Why does that matter? 1/n

Today seems like a good day to announce some improvements we've had in the works: 1. We promised lower prices as our sequencing volume increased, and thanks to our wonderful customers, as of right now we are dropping our price from $25 to $15/sample! (1/6)

For bacterial genome sequencing, would you pick fast, good, or cheap? Now you can get ALL 3 with our new ONT sequencing service that almost always produces circular, full-length bacterial chromosome contigs with consensus accuracy >Q50 -- often with their full plasmids too! (1/3)
