Having my feed back to consistently being tornado/severe weather content has me so excited that my first ever chase is making it out of the chat in less than a month. 🥹

Ahhh yes, the X1 flare that....checks notes....happened an entire month ago. 🙄 I know it's the easy or cool response, but there is no blaming the Sun for this one when it's been quiet as can be. No recent solar flares or geomagnetic storms.

Watching the lightning show from Bellevue, NE on the tornado warned cell about 60 miles to my east in IA⚡️

Is the solar flare in the room with us? No, and apparently neither is the ability to read dates because this imagery/data is timestamped from May 10th, 2024. 🤦🏼‍♀️

If I had a dollar for every click bait, misinformation filled post made regarding space weather, I would be rich, just like the exact accounts making said shit posts probably are from all the engagement they get off of it. 🥲

Just recorded and uploaded my final project presentation for my Space Physics class. That means another class nearly done and marks halfway through my Master’s program with 5 classes down and 5 more to go. 🥹

I didn't realize how unfamiliar many were with the fact that DoD & NWS/NOAA have a very close relationship & serve as backups to one another when necessary. This is also why in the past some space wx bulletins generated by the Air Force have been displayed on SWPC's page.
