AOC phone banked for the Green Party in 2017 when Jabari ran for city council as a Green. I told you she knew the Green Party US 🌻 ran local candidates. She lied. Here's the link to the post. And screenshot in case she deletes the post. x.com/AOC/status/926…

This is so true. I had my as of yet unpublished children's book beta read but I was lucky. The feedback was constructive and overall good but it would be soul destroying to get painful feedback from betas

Another agent mentioned this, and I wanted to share my thoughts as well. If I request 50 pages and your chapter ends on page 53, please don’t worry! I’ll never reject a partial for being a few pages over what I asked for. I want to know what happens at the end of the chapter too!

As both an editor & a literary agent, I know opening pages are CRUCIAL to hooking readers. Here are 21 elements I look for (+ a bonus!) as an agent & as an editor who can help you prepare your opening pages for agents' eyes! #WritingCommunity #AmWriting foxxeditorial.com/2024/09/14/21-…

I’m beyond upset. Rejection on fulls happen. But when agents say they want to rep BIPOC voices, say they love the “uniqueness of my Roman/Chinese world”, but then find the Chinese terms confusing?? Don’t tell us you’re ready to support diversity without knowing what it means.

I had a 40% request rate and 3 agent offers in a month without spending a dime. No query critiques, no classes, no editing services, etc. I wrote it in google docs and used volunteer beta readers. I’ll never stop reminding #amquerying authors that you don’t have to pay to play.

psst I’m going to be liking pitches but wanted to remind everyone that I’m just hyping up my fellow writers. I’m not an agent rn but I still want to support ❤️ #1stLinePit

I once heard titles are not copyrighted. If that's true, you could take a famous title for yourself, like "Jaws" or "Gone with the Wind" and not be sued. Is it true? And btw, why would you?

So glad that I'm taking Cheshire Novel Prize- end date feedback: 30/11/24 Summer School because it's invaluable information provided by Sara Cox and really gets me thinking about my writing. This is what I have needed and wanted for ages

Can I be petty for a second? 😂 I'd like to take this moment to thank my old literary agency for trying to destroy my career. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. 🥰 Here's to you, Gold Dust. 🥂

Ooh who fancies a luxurious writing retreat with us in the Lake District in February 2025? 🤔 taught by Sara Cox and a chance to critique each others work plus 3 hours a day free writing time and luxurious food and accommodation and a guest speaker?!
