Great to visit and give a seminar in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech today! Fantastic discussions with students and faculty, including my host Michael Bartlett Michael Bartlett

Check out our new paper on Kuttsukigami: Sticky Sheet Design with Andrew Croll andrew croll! We use adhesion to sculpt thin sheets in a broad range of materials for a versatile and reconfigurable thin-sheet engineering design scheme. See it in Soft Matter and featured on the cover!

See our new article "At the breaking point" out in Nature Physics Enjoyed writing this as a News & Views for some interesting work on fracture and toughness from Kolinski et al EPFL School of Engineering nature.com/articles/s4156…

New paper on direct ink write (DIW) printing of a liquid metal-Ag biphasic conductive ink. We enhance the electrical conductivity of stretchable conductors by elongating liquid metal droplets during printing for soft electronics. See it in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces : pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Check out the SPECIAL ISSUE on liquid metal in Advanced Functional Materials Enjoyed co-guest editing with DickeyGroup, Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh, and Aaron Ohta Big thanks to the authors, reviewers, and editors for 49 great papers See the editorial here onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

A special issue focused on liquid metals research A nice collection of impressive research in "Advanced Materials Technologies" Guest editors Aaron Ohta, Michael Bartlett, and Michael Dickey and myself Michael Bartlett DickeyGroup onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

Want electronics that are robust in harsh, underwater environments? Check out our work towards this goal on Liquid metal‐elastomer composites for water‐resilient soft electronics published in the Polymer Science & Engineering Dept @ UMass Amherst special issue in Journal of Polymer Science ! doi.org/10.1002/pol.20…

New paper on Direct Ink Write 3D Printing of Fully Dense and Functionally Graded Liquid Metal Elastomer Foams with Eric Markvicka. We use DIW to control both LM microstructure and material architecture. See it in Advanced Functional Materials: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

New paper on octopus-inspired adhesives with switchable attachment to challenging underwater surfaces. It works on soft and rigid objects that are flat, rough, and even curved (think rocks, shells, and delicate gel beads)! See it in Advanced Science onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

New paper on soft electronic vias and interconnects through rapid three-dimensional assembly of liquid metal microdroplets We leverage a curing anomaly to electrically connect across & through circuits for multilayer soft electronics In Nature Electronics: nature.com/articles/s4192…
