What a way to end #nationalschoolsportsweek Today, we completed our active minutes through a ‘Run for the Red Cross’. We have raised over £400 so far! Thank you to everyone who has donated.

Our #nationalschoolsportsweek ended with our annual Staff Sports event. It was an afternoon full of fun where children got to cheer the staff on and staff added to their active minutes! Tameside SSP

Some new events were added in to our Staff Sports this year-Space Hopper Dash and Party Ring Relay alongside the usual egg and spoon and sticky surprise! #nationalschooksportsweek Tameside SSP

A reminder that we have the very exciting DSP Olympics at Droylsden Academy tomorrow morning for Year 3 St_Marys and Y4. Please make sure your child has their trainers and a coat!

Our ‘Always Active’ theme is continuing as we have John from Skip2Bfit in today. Tameside SSP Mrs Leitch is our record holder so far with 274 skips in 2minutes!

Our Y4 class went to Droylsden Academy for an orienteering session. They learnt about 4 figure grid references before applying the skills during an outdoor map reading activity.

Thank you Droylsden Academy for a fantastic orienteering session. Y4 were able to combine their Geography and Maths skills with outdoor and adventurous activity.

Our fantastic swimming team came 2nd in the swimming gala finals! Well done 🥈

Today, our Year 6 class have started their two day Bikeability course. They are learning about cycling safely on the road and how to use hand signals to communicate.

This afternoon, we hosted Greenside Sport for a Netball tournament. A fantastic chance for some more active minutes and inter school competition Tameside SSP

Our Y4 are off on their residential camp! Lots of outdoor adventurous activity over the next two days!!!

This afternoon, our Year 6 children took part in an inter school cricket tournament at Droylsden Cricket. We had a fantastic time!
