This week we celebrated another milestone for our Year 6 pupils - their last ever play at South Kilworth.Bombs and Blackberries was utterly fantastic 👏 The acting was phenomenal and the audience laughed and cried and applauded with delight. A great way to end their topic on WW2

We’re not sure this week could get much busier for our Year 6s but they enjoyed a ‘Leavers’ day at the Outdoor Pursuits Centre. We are going to miss our Year 6 pupils- they have grown into confident, creative and resilient young people, we couldn’t be prouder of them #TallOaks

Last week the new Reception children joined us for a Teddy Bear Picnic. They had a wonderful time getting to know their new friends and going on a Teddy bear hunt in the woodland walk to find their new bears. 🐻

We have found a new school tradition to add to our calendar - Bowls! We made friends with the wonderful SK Bowls Club as they invited some of our pupils to try their hand on the green. It was lovely to see the different generations learning and playing together #community

This morning we were visited by Charlie, an engineer involved in motorsport. She talked about the maths and science skills she uses and the things she noticed as a female following the career pathway to become an engineer. #inspiration #STEM

On Friday morning Tall Oaks shared their half terms work on the digestive system and teeth! They shared their posters and even a poem/rap they’d written 🦷🪥😁 Thank you Tall Oaks

We had the most inspiring day yesterday. The whole school went a tour around Leicester - visiting a Mosque, a Madir, St Philip’s Church plus a visit to a Gurdwara. Our children were exceptional 🤩 It was a phenomenal day, that the children will remember for a very long time.

We had the best end of term treat today - a visit from Lutterworth Fire Station.🤩 They gave a great assembly where Miss Bulmer was invited to try on all their equipment! They also spoke on the importance of having smoke alarms fitted and having an evacuation plan. #firesafety

Design and Technology week! Acorns made sock puppets - designed and created to look like fantastic creatures! 🦉🐲 Saplings made illuminated billboards which are awesome.They used control boxes to sequence the fairy lights and designed them all themselves. Tall Oaks made teddies.

We had a fabulous afternoon performance last week! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the performance- there was a party in the hall 🥁We are very lucky to have excellent music teachers who visit our school - piano, flute, choir and drumming teachers! DCP Drums

What an amazing day! Our Summer Fayre on Saturday was absolutely brilliant and so much fun ☀️ We had lots of stalls, games, a raffle, tombola, bouncy castle and delicious food; plus excellent Maypole dancing from our pupils.

Our Year 5 and 6 children completed the Brownlee Foundation Mini-Triathlon today at Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton. Swimming, running and cycling. We are so proud of the resilience and determination they showed. This is a great achievement for them all. Well done! 👏👏

The team from Lutterworth Sports Centre came to complete a special assembly for Drowning Prevention Week. All of Sapling Class have recently achieved their swimming safety awards in their swimming lessons so were able to answer vital questions about how to stay safe near water.

Our children learned all about rubbish! And why it should never be dropped and how to pick it up safely and dispose of it - all thanks to the Litter Wombles 👏 A team of year 5/6 students have decided to continue this work and set up their own ‘Litter Club’ Great work SK!

On Friday we welcomed Our Blaby & Lutterworth schools to our Wellbeing Ambassador conference. Our Ambassadors learnt about the importance of mental health & wellbeing and created action plans to embed in school. Huge thank you to our wonderful hosts Thomas Estley CC💚
