Had a great day today making progress on processes that will make a huge impact to the service we provide to children & young people - both our own volunteers and the patients we care for at events!

Great to talk to the clinical education day today about how HCPs can support young people at events and growing our future healthcare professionals. “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.”

Wishing everyone a very happy, safe, and peaceful new year! It’s been a long and busy few months laying the groundwork for some exciting things coming in 2022, to improve the services we provide to children & young people! Happy new year!

Last night providing first aid cover to The Killers were me and Dan Bevis (we were cadets together). The other two paramedics were my cadets. And the cadets just becoming adults were my Badgers. Such a privilege to watch them grow. Never underestimate the power of youth work!

I have the pleasure of returning to SJA Hampshire & IOW (West District) on 1st September to deliver #paediatric CPD at Millbrook, 1900-2200. Still lots of spaces available, sign up here if interested… why wouldn’t you want to learn more about the most incredible patients we see? mytraining.sja.org.uk/courses/role-d…

Lots of our young people will be collecting GCSE results today… good luck to you all!! If your results are not what you hoped for, reach out to somebody to discuss options… your youth leaders are here for you! Plenty of us experienced results we weren’t expecting!

It was my pleasure to teach paediatric CPD tonight for St John Ambulance ¦ Hampshire & Isle of Wight, first time delivering simultaneous face to face and virtual teaching: lots of potential, but I’ll need to practice!! Thank you to all who attended!

It’s GCSE results day! Good luck to all those collecting envelopes today! For those who smash it, congratulations! For those who don’t do as well as they’d hoped: these results don’t define you or your future, and there are plenty of people to support you. Just reach out!

It was my pleasure this morning to be at the Remembrance service in Dronfield today, huge thank you to the local unit for allowing me to join them. Very impressed with the turn out and engagement of all the young people present, from St John Ambulance England and all the youth orgs.
