🥳We are very happy to announce that SISAL will go into a third phase thanks to support from Past Global Changes! We look forward to new collaborations on climate interpretations, proxy-system modelling, and spatial statistics! Get in touch if you are interested! 🥳
It’s time for #EGU24 ! #speleothem , #karst , and #paleoclimate - enthusiasts - Rieneke Weij Monika Markowska Laura Endres, Ezgi Ünal-Imer and me have the perfect session for your abstract:

Hurry to apply for travel support - deadline is on Friday 🏃🏻♀️ SISAL group
New paper using the SISAL DB: Vanessa Skiba Vanessa Skiba and Jens Fohlmeister used the SISALv2 database to study the effect of cave internal processes on stable isotope compositions and growth rates! Read the results in GCA: authors.elsevier.com/a/1gqqV3p4ZUTMD
We are co-organizing the #speleothem session again at #EGU23 ! Work on all aspects of cave and karst formations as archives of past environmental and climatic changes is highly welcome! Abstract deadline: Jan 10th, Dec 1st for travel support. meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU23/session/…
Any other non-climatic evidence from speleothems? I've seen earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, fires in caves, mining/pollution, dating archaeological finds in the cave, ancient DNA/pollen from stals (one for SISAL group peeps)
📢The deadline for #INQUARoma2023 abstracts is 28 November! Consider submitting an abstract to one of the PAGES groups 💪: pastglobalchanges.org/calendar/128891

What has SISAL group been up to? Here is a summary of our last workshop. This kickstarted a new wave of data collection to provide the community with an updated database of speleothem isotopes AND trace elements! Stay tuned for its release this winter! tinyurl.com/2nj74p76
We have been quieter but not idle! Last week, SISAL group was at #EGU22 co-hosting the speleothem session. Lots of interesting talks on new methods and data-model integration. And of course, our traditional speleothem dinner! Past Global Changes EGU
