Money for legal aid in tenancy tribunals is not a right. You know what would be a right? Well... a *right* to legal representation at the tribunal

But that would require thousands of lawyers, and put an end to 90-second decisions at the eviction factory

Need less “thoughts & prayers”
and more “policy and change”

doesn’t mean City of Toronto should let a bunch of stressed/unwell, burnt-out cops run rampant (armed w/LETHAL weapons) and expect them to have the wherewithal in order to make COMPETENT, LOGICAL decisions ❌

security for renters is based on their possession of their rental unit, and this appears to do nothing to restrict landlords' ability to dispossess tenants

So every resident in these hotels could instead be given a $2K per month stipend for dignified apartment living in GTA/Niagara and we'd still save FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS PER PERSON PER MONTH?! The lengths our government will go to to ensure the poor stay poor is mind blowing.

“the violent destruction of encampments is a continuation of the function states have always performed in the service of capital—enclosing commons and enforcing dependence on states+labor markets.”

To choose care/love for our communities, is to resist against capital interests.
