We are about 2/3 through the month of May and we just wanted to take a moment to recognize Sergeant Tony Manibusan from the great island of Guam. Tony has been an amazing public servant for us here Santa Fe College for over 18 years. We are grateful to have him.

This week is the 50th anniversary of National EMS week. Firefighters, paramedics, and other rescue personnel risk their lives each day to respond to those in emergency need. Take some time to thank a person in this brave profession.

Last week the SFPD and Alachua Co. Sheriff held our last Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class of the spring semester. This was by far our biggest class of the semester with 24 women interested in their own personal safety! 💪🏼

On Thursday May 9th several of our members attended the Police Officer’s Memorial at Veterans Memorial Park to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in serving their community.

One of the Santa Fe College PD’s main tasks is to educate new SF students about services our department provides. Yesterday, we spoke to a group of new international students! Chief Book and Captain Woods educated these students and took the opportunity of getting to know them.
