Join us at 1245(ish) over on our Facebook channel for an up close view of the Vulcan doing high power engine runs. We will be on and around the runway as the run is taking place. We are also hoping to join the team as they recover the deployed!

It was a fleeting visit today from this DH8C on a ferry flight through Southend. This aircraft originated in Oklahoma and is making its way to Nairobi, with stops in Egypt and Djibouti before arriving in Kenya on Friday! Any guesses which airline used to operate this aircraft?

An exciting day today with 2 new/returning routes! Fantastic to see flights to Paris Aéroport - Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Alicante resume. This will also be our busiest day with easyJet flights since the post pandemic restart! Fantastic to see things getting busier!

Massive congratulations to Dylan and Vejune who have both qualified as Air Traffic Controllers. Validating their ‘Aerodrome Control Instrument’ rating means they are controlling everything landing, taking off and taxing at London Southend Airport. Well done to you both!

London Southend Airport has a great history, playing a key role in both World War I and II. Today we remember all those that have served our country. As a mark of respect we will restrict arrivals and departures at 1100 for the 2 minutes silence. We will remember them.

We had quite the morning at London Southend Airport today as we welcomed 6 British Airways and 3 KLM diverted flights. London Southend Airport’s excellent weather record and on site train station with quick links to London, makes us an excellent choice for this type of flight!
