SD Wildland Fire is planning a 44-acre prescribed burn in coordination with Custer State Park on Wednesday 4.24.24. If weather is not favorable it will be rescheduled. The park will remain open but expect delays near the burn area.

This week is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, and the theme is “How Would You Help?” The South Dakota Highway Patrol assists victims of crime every day by responding to the scenes of crashes, investigating, and working with our state attorneys through the court process.

A RED FLAG WARNING has been issued from 1PM to 8PM CDT. Winds with gusts up to 50 mph are forecasted over north central and portions of central and northeast SD. Gusty winds and low humidity means fires can spark and grow very quickly. Please avoid any burning! #KeepSDsafe
