People of all ages gathered to meet members of the SCPD during a recent Touch-a-Truck event at Comsewogue Public Library.

Children enjoyed exploring the police vehicles and engaging with police officers to learn about the important work they do to keep their community safe.

Members of the Guardians of Our Dependents (GOOD) Foundation dedicated their Sunday morning to enhancing  the memorial garden at Suffolk County Police Headquarters in Yaphank in preparation for the department's annual Police Week and Police Memorial Service.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Queens man following a computer scam that resulted in a woman being bilked out of thousands of dollars.

Detectives are asking anyone who believes they could be a victim of this scam to contact Financial Crimes at 631-852-6821.

The SCPD is seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who is wanted for criminal mischief as a hate crime.

A man displayed false identification and stole a package from UPS, located in East Farmingdale on November 22, 2023. The package contained approximately $91,000 worth of silver bars.

Hundreds of teens will be looking fantastic at their proms thanks to the Suffolk County Police Department’s annual Prom Impact event. High school students from across the island headed to the Police Academy on Saturday to pick out a gown or suit to wear to their special event.

The SCPD is seeking the public’s help in locating Josue Zepeda Padilla who is wanted for an MS-13 gang assault.

Zepeda Padilla was one of seven people indicted for the robbery, kidnapping and gang assault of a 15-year-old boy that occurred in January and remains at large.

Today, the SCPD remembers Deputy Inspector George McMullen who died 4/24/69. After responding to the scene of a fatal plane crash in a wooded area in South Setauket, McMullen suffered a heart attack and died later that day. He was survived by his four children.

SCPD joined the family of Terry Long, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 2022, at a press conference to highlight unsolved cases for National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

SCPD remembers Police Officer John Jantzen who died 4/21/91. PO Jantzen was off-duty when he heard gunfire in a Lake Grove restaurant. PO Jantzen rushed to offer assistance & the subject killed him as he entered the building. Officer Jantzen was survived by his wife & infant son.
