The Women’s Business Second Chance (WB2C) Hub in Australia is a ground-breaking programme run by Real Futures, who partnered with SCE from 2019 to 2022. Since 2020, over 900 women have signed up to the WB2C Hubs and received SCE trainings!

SCE provides women with a second chance to access learning and training opportunities and find pathways towards empowerment. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4, 5 and 8.

In 2022, women were 12% less likely to own mobile phones than men, a gap that has remained relatively unchanged since 2019.
Together with our implementing partners and facilitators, the #SCEProgram has sought to bring more women into the digital world.
Given that two-thirds of the 763 million adults lacking basic literacy skills are women, addressing literacy disparities between men and women becomes imperative.
Initiatives such as UN Women’s #SCEProgram give them hope – a #SecondChance .

In low-income countries, 34% of men are using the Internet, compared with 20% of women. Worldwide an estimated 244 million more men used the internet than women in 2023. The #SCEProgram has supported women in 6 countries in gaining access to the internet and its benefits.
