Shevaun Haviland: "The Chancellor has stayed true to his word in focusing on financial stability and targeting support for the most vulnerable in society. But in the teeth of a recession, this statement will not increase business confidence." Our reaction 👇 britishchambers.org.uk/news/2022/11/a…
Very disappointing news for South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry business community and area. Delays will simply mean we don’t reap the benefits of the infrastructure project sooner. Difficult for businesses and local regeneration boards to plan for the future when there are ongoing changes.
Excellent news this morning. South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry Patrons Bentley Motors have recorded their best results in company history. Synonymous with Crewe and the wider region it’s a testament to all those involved including the tremendously skilled workforce based in the town.
It was a disappointing day for Crewe and South Cheshire losing out to Derby as the home of Great British Railways. I’d like to thank all the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry businesses who voted and backed the bid. While not successful, Crewe and South Cheshire has a bright future.

Currently at the High Speed Rail group conference Crewe Hall finding out the latest on HS2 and how it’ll impact the local area. Fantastic opportunity for the area and we can start taking advantage of it now.
Scrapping HS2 phase 2 would be a disgrace. Andy Burnham is spot on. We desperately need this infrastructure to support levelling up. It’s not just about speed it’s about capacity and local lines being freed up and the movement of freight.
Michael Heseltine and I both welcome the seriousness that Sunak has restored to No10. We’ve both delivered big infrastructure when money is tight. We write The Times and The Sunday Times on why cancelling HS2 would be an economic disaster + a betrayal of the north thetimes.co.uk/article/222230…
Congratulations to Connor Naismith MP on becoming the MP for Crewe & Nantwich. The Chamber and I will be working with Connor to help the area achieve its potential and provide an environment for our businesses to prosper.
Small and medium sized businesses are the beating heart of our local economy. I can't wait to get to work with South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry and others to deliver for Crewe and Nantwich.
