Menopause is cool. More than 50 British organizations including HSBC, Unilever and West Ham Football Club have put in place “menopause friendly”policies such as desk fans, modified uniforms and flex schedules. I’m all in.

Saw Gustavo Dudamel conduct Mahler’s 9th at David Geffen Hall. An extraordinary experience. LOVED the ways in which Dudamel recognized and celebrated the musicians. They not him were the stars.

Launched my new book Executive Presence 2.0: Leadership in an Age of Inclusion at Citi's headquarters last night to an enthusiastic 700 person audience. Thirty-something-year-olds as well as seasoned leaders were fascinated by my vivid examples of authenticity-in-action.

At meeting at the Council on Foreign Relations today. Topic at hand was the new Garza crisis but the hallway chatter was all about Trump’s threats to NATO. Given his poll numbers the foreign policy establishment is running scared.

The post pandemic work place has settled down. There’s good and bad news for professional women with children. Much more remote and flex work opportunities but much less sponsorship and face time with the boss. Result: # of women in exec roles has fallen 5% since 2019.

Very proud of my most recent article with Todd Sears on how it is in the best interests of companies for them to continue to stay committed to LGBTQ+ rights and freedoms. hbr.org/2024/05/why-co…

Kamala crushed it last night. Whether it was confidence/credibility, inclusivity/authenticity or her fierce bravery, she provided a Master Class in Executive Presence. I know a thing or two about EP - see my Harvard Business Review article “The New Rules of Executive Presence”.

Just got back from speaking at a Leadership conference at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Bill Hornbuckle (CEO of MGM resorts) and myself kicked off the conference with a Fireside Chat on my new book "Executive Presence 2.0". The 750 executives in the Bellagio ballroom were riveted.

Do people vote their pocket book? We’ll find out today. Trump’s economic policies would lift the incomes of everyday Americans by just 1%. Harris’s policies would lift those incomes by 18%

Stunned by Trump’s victory. Misogyny, racism, and homophobia feel ascendant. The implications for our country and world are harsh. Years of work advocating for DEI seem dismissed. I mourn for my daughters, granddaughters, and gay son. But I have to keep going—there’s work ahead.

This weekend I watched Nicole Kidman (57) in Babygirl, Julianne Moore (64) in May December. Both films explore older women w younger men, intensely erotic & liberating. It’s time we celebrate middle-aged women as desirable. Remember The Graduate? Even a 5 yr gap caused a scandal!

Destroying DEI stifles growth and competitiveness. As a Pfizer Inc. exec told me: “72% of graduate degrees in the bio-sciences are now earned by women.”Pharma needs these qualified talented women, but without tailored leadership programs, they’ll wither on the vine.” #DEI #Leadership

I’m not a Catholic, not a believer, yet I consider Pope Francis one of the greats. Why? He washed the feet and absorbed the pain of the downtrodden. Unlike other Princes of the Church, he had compassion, humility and understood that crippling poverty still grips the earth.

I’ve know Molly Jong-Fast for 20+ years— she blurbed my 2002 book, Creating A Life. Her new memoir ‘How to Lose Your Mother’ is raw, beautiful, and soul piercing. It took me back to my own mother’s 9 year decline from dementia. A painful journey. Thank you, Molly.

Erika Kirk and Usha Vance had top careers before marrying into MAGA. Usha stayed at her law firm until Sept ’24. Ericka still runs Proclaim Streetwear and co-leads TPUSA. Yet Erika tells young women: “When I met Charlie, I couldn’t care less about my career.” I’m not buying it.

Widows of assassinated leaders then and now. Both beautiful, both shattered by grief. BUT one projects fragility while the other steely strength. Already the CEO of TurningPoint USA, Erika Kirk is fast becoming a potent political force. #CharlieKirk #TurningPointUSA #ErikaKirk

Joan Kennedy’s death hit me hard. As a Kennedy scholar at Harvard in the late ’60s, I met her in Hyannis Port. We bonded over music, she on piano, me on viola. She was kind, gracious, and thoughtful, nothing like the tabloid caricature. Her kindness stayed with me.
