Every child in #Brent deserves to start the school year with confidence and pride. As a child, I remember how my mother skipped meals so she could afford my school uniform. Read the latest Brent & Kilburn Times column about our campaign of trying to end school uniform poverty in #Brent.👇🏻🗞️

Teachers are personally providing food to pupils who don't have enough to eat at school. In the North West, its 1 in 3 teachers. No more tinkering around the edges. The scale of this issue demands national action from Government. #FreeSchoolMealsForAll independent.co.uk/news/education…

I hope there is a day where students and parents don’t have to worry about getting school uniforms or their next meal but sadly we know that many people are still struggling. An important free school uniforms and clothes drive in Brent to help and support residents.

Don't make it easy for criminals! Take the right steps to protect your vehicle from theft. A vehicle that appears secure and difficult to steal from is more invisible to a thief than a vehicle that appears vulnerable. For more advice: - Prevent Motor Vehicle Crime

Many residents in Willesden have also expressed their views and concerns with Lime’s operating model. I’m glad Cllr Muhammed Butt and Cllr Krupa Sheth have urgently asked Lime to take residents’ concerns seriously and amend its model to account for the common-sense asks. Safety is paramount.

Another piece of graffiti removed! 🪣 Good to get the vandalism washed away from the climbing frame in Tiverton Green. This year we are looking forward to seeing the children’s park getting a much needed upgrade from #Labour-run Brent Council . 🛝

Thousands of children in poverty will be going back to school this week without a uniform that fits. 📚 ALL children should be able to enjoy a free school uniform in 2024. Read my latest Brent & Kilburn Times column about how the community came together to help tackle uniform poverty. 👇🏻🗞️
