Im excited to see this article about Victoria County History as #Participatory #Historicalgeography published in RGS-IBG Higher Ed journal #Area. It’s part of a special section I’m editing with Ed Brookes to formalise participatory historical geog as a subdiscipline. rgs-ibg.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Our Co-General Editor Ruth Slatter has published this article exploring how far the Victoria County History has used participatory methods over its 125 year history. Many thanks to all the members of the Victoria County History network who contributed to this research.

As one of our flagship projects Victoria County History is currently reflecting on, celebrating & furthering developing its participatory methodologies. It’s Co-General Editor Ruth Slatter explores some of this process in this article. 👇

A great article and much food for thought. Congrats Ruth Slatter

Thank you Institute of Historical Research for inviting me to #HistDay24 We had a wonderful time looking at the archives and collections. My mother was my guest & we are certainly inspiring the next generation of citizen historians. Also caught up with Dr Gillian Murphy LSE Library #historian ❤️

Was a huge pleasure to work with our VCH_Cumbria colleagues on this fantastic book. The very rainy February day I spent in Burton-in-Kendal will have been totally worth it when this 250th volume of Victoria County History arrives!
