Huge thanks to all involved in a successful #PeopleAndHomes conference, led by Robin White We had a blend of honesty about where we are, readiness to hear different perspectives; and energy & optimism to drive change. Wales can choose a different housing future.

The vital role of the 3rd sector is widely understood- particularly as so many face hardship. But the sector cannot run on passion, creativity and values alone. 3rd provision has a cost too. And those costs are rising.

Don't miss the second of our free webinars at 1pm tomorrow - Building Support for Social Homes. These sessions will be particularly useful for anyone who talks and writes about homes in Wales, like housing associations and tenants' voice organisations: bit.ly/3VzDi4r

I think one of the impacts of the 'housing ladder' idea is that we too rarely see support for homeowners through a lens of homelessness prevention. That's a mistake. Especially with rising mortgage costs and wider cost of living pressures 1/5 🧵

Wales once again has the highest rate of increase for private rents, with average rents up 8.7% in 12-months (quite a bit higher than inflation that...). This trend isn't sustainable, and it's only a matter of time before we see it turn into dramatic increases in homelessness
