Today I met with the Elizabethton Boys & Girls Club, who are raising our next generation of leaders; then the Johnson City Homebuilders Association. We’re all working to provide affordable housing, and they’ve done a great job building homes in our communities. Busy day!

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. I was proud to support HB2089 last session, which created Tennessee’s Department of Disability and Aging to better coordinate services and provide more resources for individuals with disabilities and their families.

I enjoyed spending some time with our local 4H kids today. Their love for our state and country make me proud, and I am convinced that our future will be in good hands!

I was proud to meet with our great Johnson City firefighters last week. Thank you to those who put their lives on the line for us every day!

It’s Ag Day on the Hill! Today I met with East Tennessee FFA and AG commissioner Andy Holt. Featured was this large bulldozer, which is also what we use in fighting forest fires, and which we take to other states to help as well.

Today, State Representative Renea Jones and I had the chance to meet with our Carter County Farm Bureau. They have been a great asset to all of us on the Hill as they help us to understand the most important issues to our farming communities.
