With the end of summer the calendar flipped to September. Final year of highschool with all its stress and studying doesnt really allow for much photo taking. My latest roll was of my 18th birthday, which I wont share here since its all of my friends and me.

The final photo of summer

During my last day in Elista I managed to catch a Kino rock concert and decided to spend my last roll of colour there. Shooting friends, the crowd, enjoying the last few weeks of summer.

The heat and tranquility of the endless carpet of yellow grass is something I never thought id miss. The 40 degree heat, old run down streets, unmantained streets and crumbling commie blocks, you dont get that in Moscow.

Those 6k rubles I earned and spent on 2 rolls of kodak film did wonders at capturing this nostalgic feeling of desert city in the kalmyk steppes.

Growing up in different cities all my life I never really expirenced small villages. Even Elista wasnt as peacfull as a small village for pensioners in the central forests.

Early last summer for the first time in my life I went to my stepdads family dacha in the suburbs of moscow.

After some time I decided it was time to go for another photo walk. This time from old Arbat to Moscow city (7.5km) I had 2 rolls of film, music and some cash for food. The walk resulted in some of the best photos I have ever taken.

During the walk I talked to lovely photographer (2nd pic) had a nice talk about soviet lenses and cameras, even gave me some advice for a cheap soviet 200mm lens. Helped him take a photo of a bee on a sakura leaf. Such a lovely chap.

On the 9th I went to the Japanese garden in Ostankino park, VDNH. It was a bad trip, super cold, phone died and the cold made it hard to shoot since my hands were shaking and frozen. But the photos turned out amazing. :) enjoy the sakuras.

Winter is my least favorite time of year to shoot. Its cold, barren and devoid of any colour. From spring to autumn are the times I take my best photos. For example these taken on the 9th of may 2022. :)
